Robert Good

Bobby Good was born at a homestead on Beaver Creek near Shell. He loved the land, quality horses, good livestock, and the wisdom of the old-time ranchers who instilled in him the value of ranching and doing the work quietly and effectively. Bobby started riding horses when he was three with his brothers Loren, Albert, John, and Gary. The Good boys rode their horses to the Beaver Creek school three miles down the road from their place. After eighth grade, Bobby began working at various ranches in the valley establishing his love of ranching. He learned important skills about stock and training horses while he worked at the Bear Creek Ranch at the foot of the Big Horns, as well as the Ranger Creek Dude Ranch in the Big Horn Mountains. Bud Pilcher also employed Bobby at the Belknap Ranch near Cody. He later managed the Rush Lampman place. In the late 1950s, Bobby and several others started a roping club at the Greybull arena. In the 1960s, Bobby picked up bucking horses at the Greybull Night Rodeo, and at rodeos throughout Wyoming and Montana for stock contractor, Andy Gifford.
