Kay Bischoff Hopkin

Kay Bischoff Hopkin was born to Eugene and Helen Bischoff on July 4, 1938, in the small town of Lovell. Kay is the third child out of nine. All the children grew up moving cattle, riding horses, fixing fence, and so much more. As Kay turned 17 in 1955, she married the love of her life Neil Lewis Hopkin. Kay rode any horse that you put in front of her; she would ride them dusk to dawn to get the job done no matter the weather. Kay was unstoppable when it came cowboying. She helped operate the Lewis state cattle and established management in the E.O Bischoff Ranch on the Bighorn mountains in 1999. She rode and moved cattle across Sage Creek, Ballard Flats, and in the Pryor Mountains of Montana to the Crow Reservation and the edge of Bighorn Basin, all while running the sheep operation she and Neil built. Kay ran 200 mother cows across these ranges and was so meticulous about her cattle she could tell which cow went to what calf and even the history of the cow. Kay continued this life up until her late 70s when she and Neil retired.
