Julius Frederick “Jule” Bock was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany on June 5, 1867. In 1872, at the age of 5, he came to America and settled in Nebraska with his parents, two brothers and seven sisters. Julius attended country schools until he was 13, and then worked on the family farm until he was 19. At that time Julius traveled to Wyoming. Realizing the value of land, Julius took a preemption claim as soon as he arrived in the state. He found employment with prominent horse rancher Lagrave Delaney at the T-E Ranch. He then settled on his own land in 1888. In 1892 he started his own ranch the Double Spear Ranch located on Horse Creek at Osage. In 1912 he purchased the Y-T Ranch from John L. Baird located between Osage and Newcastle. His wisdom, skills, industry and determination paid off as he continued to prosper.
