Dave Graham was born and raised on his family’s ranch near Moorcroft. He has spent his lifetime learning the trade. Dave has raised and started several of his own horses, watched his cow herd transform and grow, and has learned many cowboy skills along the way. He worked at the Shipwheel Ranch in Moorcroft from 1973 to 1981, where he worked for Pollards, and then had the opportunity to lease the place himself and run his own herd. In 1981, he and his family moved back to the family ranch.
Dave has spent his whole life in the saddle managing herds of cattle, sometimes even sheep, and has gained the term “a true stockman” from those who know him best. Dave had the privilege to start many of the young horses his dad would bring home or the colts that they raised. Dave worked every day next to his brother and dad. Dave is known for his hard work rain or shine. Many say he is a jack of all trades. Dave spent many years shearing sheep, trimming/shoeing horses, farming, and starting a passel of horses.
Dave lent his knowledge and skills to his two sons, volunteered to shear sheep for kids in 4-H, is a big supporter to the local FFA chapter, supports the local Crook County youth rodeos, and sat on boards to keep the cowboy lifestyle alive. Dave has been a volunteer firefighter for years, participated and became President of the Young Farmers in the 1970s, sat on the Predator Board for Crook County in the 1980s, and was on the Ag Board from 2004 to 2008.
